Life drawing at my studio

Fascinated by drawing human figures, and eager to learn to see, to me life drawing has always been a valuable way to study the art of drawing.

For many years now I am sharing my love for life drawing with students and art lovers of all kind. From illustrators to youngsters only just discovering the joy of drawing to people who haven't been drawing for a while- or for many years! - and are curious again how it feels to draw after a life model... Recently I added the double-lesson option which allows you and your friend to join one class.

About...

Based on lessons taken at The Art Students League in NYC in 2010 and 2011, I have been teaching life drawing since 2014.

Starting in Amsterdam and continuing whilst living in England me and my family returned to Arnhem in 2019, the place where I graduated in 1996 at the Fashion Design department at ArtEZ.

Besides working as freelance fashion illustrator amongst a.o. for ELLE magazine and SHOWstudio ( London), I am currently teaching fashion illustration at Akademie Vogue in Amsterdam and am a regular guest tutor at ArtEZ.

Using accessible and yet challenging methods, the emphasize in my class lies on translating the human figure into lines.
By grouping elements within the pose, focussing on silhouettes, and mostly by creating awareness of the human figure as a whole.

No experience needed, open to all levels, and definitely also challenging to the experienced artist.
